Birthday Celebrations in London...

It was my boyfriend's Birthday a few weeks ago and as it was his 21st I treated him with tickets to Les Mis in London! We both love the show and the music and probably together know all the words! We just stayed in London for one night but we tried to pack as much as we could into the time we had.

When we arrived we met up with Andrew's sister and her husband who were also in London and we had lunch at an amazing bbq place that I can't remember the name of! I had the most incredible pulled pork sandwich with tasty fries and sauce. It was so good I clearly forgot to take a photo but you can take my word for it that it was amazing! After lunch we headed to Hyde Park and sunbathed! We embraced the heat wave that hit England!

Andrew and I then left the park and headed to our Hotel. We stayed in the Strand Palace which was very very nice and right in the heart of Covent Garden. We found our rooms, got changed and then headed out for pre theatre dinner! Neither of us had ever been to Zizi's before so we decided to give it a go and loved it! We went to the one on the Strand which is underground and really cool. We both had super tasty mains and shared some cheesy garlic bread.

It was then time to head to the theatre! We were both so excited, it was my first ever time seeing a show in London too so I was super excited. We had amazing seats, we were so close to the stage which just made the whole evening even better. The performance was incredible! I could watch it over and over, the actors were amazing. Before heading back to the hotel we thought it would be fun to go meet some of the cast at stage door! We got photos with the actors who played Marius, Fantine, Enjolras and Jean valjean! It just topped off an already perfect evening!

We then spent the second day exploring, we visited Piccadilly Circus, Covent Garden, Westminster and Buckingham Palace. Here are a collection of my photos from the trip...

Road Trip...

I'm back! Uni life got the better of me and my blog has taken a back seat in the last few months but now I'm finished university again for the year and hoping to share my summer with all of you!

A few weeks ago a few friends and I went on a wee road trip, I had handed in an essay and completed a presentation and my flatmates had just finished their uni teaching before placement. It seemed like the perfect opportunity. The sun even made an appearance which doesn't happen very often in Scotland during March!

We packed up our beach gear and headed to North Berwick. Before heading to the beach Jenny persuaded us all to climb North Berwick Law, I wasn't too keen but when we reached the top and saw the views it was so worth it! After our walk we wandered to the beach. I had never been to North Berwick before, it is so quaint and pretty. We attempted to paddle in the sea but it was absolutely freezing! When we got too cold to stay on the beach we headed along the high street and found a lovely little cafe and had some hot chocolate and amazing red velvet cake.

As it was a beach road trip we couldn't drive back to Edinburgh without a stop at the fish and chip shop, we ate our dinner looking out over the sun setting on the beach. It was beautiful. Many many photos and selfies were taken so I thought I would share a few with you...

Escape to Rockcliffe...

Last week I had a mini holiday with my mum, brother, boyfriend, granny and grandpa! A random combination of people but it was fabulous! My grandparents booked a 6 bed cottage in Dumfries and Galloway and invited us along to fill the extra beds! The cottage was a five minute walk from the beach in the pretty seaside town of Rockcliffe. It was lovely. The best bit of the cottage was the upstairs living room, showing off the gorgeous views of the sea.

We arrived on the Wednesday evening so Thursday was our first full day, we made the most of it and
walked from neighbouring Kippford back to Rockcliffe.

The path goes through a wooded area and then ended with beautiful sea views. Both towns are coastal with cute stone houses and boats. I was in my element!! Then after lunch we headed to Kirkcudbright to wander and explore. Again, Kirkcudbright has water, views, shops, cute houses and it also has art galleries. It is a lovely place. It was such a treat to sit by the water and enjoy healthy holiday food like ice cream and chips!!

This is a really cute alley in Kirkcudbright! So pretty! I love just wandering around places like Kirkcudbright. So many hidden gems like this..

So many of the houses were painted in pretty pastel colours. Love it!

Friday was also a fabulous day, the weather forecast told us that it was going to be cloudy and then rainy.. So we thought we would make the most of the morning and we headed to a beach. Mossyard bay. It was picture perfect! We ended up having the whole beach to ourselves and staying for a good few hours! The beach was beautiful and as the tide came in and out again it changed and brought more surprises. The sand by the sea was covered in the most beautiful shells. All different shaped and sizes, my favourites were the swirly cone shaped ones!

Love this photo... Granny and Grandpa paddling! Grandpa in up to his knees! Love them.

After the beach we headed to an ice cream farm and enjoyed some very tasty ice cream!! Mine was delicious, chocolate orange flavour. The farm had loads of different activities including, slides, a 3D maze and huge viewing tower. Our favourite thing was however, 'go boing!' a series of nets suspended from trees which created a massive trampoline with tunnels and different areas. It was so much fun but also very scary!! The boys were more daring than me! I screamed less than my mum though, she did not enjoy it at all!!

We then finished Friday with a birthday meal out for granny's 85th (very tasty!) then cake and silly games back at the cottage!

Saturday morning was spent packing up and leaving but Dumfries didn't get rid of us that easily, we headed back to Kippford for a bit and then spent the afternoon at Caelaverock castle before heading back home! All in all it was a fabulous few days spent laughing and having fun with family!
