Road Trip...

I'm back! Uni life got the better of me and my blog has taken a back seat in the last few months but now I'm finished university again for the year and hoping to share my summer with all of you!

A few weeks ago a few friends and I went on a wee road trip, I had handed in an essay and completed a presentation and my flatmates had just finished their uni teaching before placement. It seemed like the perfect opportunity. The sun even made an appearance which doesn't happen very often in Scotland during March!

We packed up our beach gear and headed to North Berwick. Before heading to the beach Jenny persuaded us all to climb North Berwick Law, I wasn't too keen but when we reached the top and saw the views it was so worth it! After our walk we wandered to the beach. I had never been to North Berwick before, it is so quaint and pretty. We attempted to paddle in the sea but it was absolutely freezing! When we got too cold to stay on the beach we headed along the high street and found a lovely little cafe and had some hot chocolate and amazing red velvet cake.

As it was a beach road trip we couldn't drive back to Edinburgh without a stop at the fish and chip shop, we ate our dinner looking out over the sun setting on the beach. It was beautiful. Many many photos and selfies were taken so I thought I would share a few with you...

Sun, sea and ice cream...

I LOVE the North East of England! I am a city girl at heart but I adore days out in the countryside. This week my family took a trip into Northumberland. The plan was to walk from Craster to Dunstanburgh but due to the crazy business of a bank holiday Monday we carried on driving to Embleton. Embleton is a little Northumberland village with just a few houses, a pub, golf course and beach. Such a gem.

There is a pretty walk down from the village to the beach. The sun made the walk even more enjoyable.

After a picnic lunch on the beach we wandered across to Dunstanburgh through the sand dunes. Such a lovely walk with the most incredible views!

This was the view as we walked from the beach towards Dunstanburgh castle...

The weather got nicer and nicer as the day went on, I ended up getting very sunburnt!!

If you are ever in the North East you NEED to visit Northumberland. So beautiful.

You should check out this website... http://www.suefenlonart.co.uk/, she is my favourite artist and she paints the most amazing pictures and many of them feature Northumberland.

Summer Sun...

Today there has been the most glorious sunshine and surprisingly it is warm as well which doesn't happen very often. I embraced the weather and I have been out for two walks, soaking in the rays! First of all I was just popping to the shops but it was so lovely outside I took a long route there and back. I made the mistake of going out in a cardigan and a jacket as I was expecting our usual weather but I was pleasantly surprised!

Yesterday it seemed lovely and sunny but by 8 o'clock in the evening when I had to walk somewhere and it was beginning to rain. I was only walking for ten minutes before the thunder and lightening, I saw an amazing fork of lightening which must have been incredibly close! Creation never fails to amaze me! Then the torrential hail started! It was awful, it was so heavy it soaked all the way through my waterproof coat. Not so amazing. I am very grateful for the sunny weather today!

My little brother is hilarious, he wears his massive winter coat no matter what and won't unzip it or admit that he is too hot! Today I collected him from school and walked him home. We live about a 30 minute walk from the school, it was great to be out enjoying the fresh air.

Obviously it being me I couldn't help myself taking a few pictures so here you go!

The sky was so blue! It was beautiful!
